Jasper Nery

Jasper Nery is an experienced recreation professional with significant expertise in aquatic management, currently serving as a Recreation Coordinator for The City of Manhattan Beach since August 2012, and previously held the position of Senior Recreation Leader II. Nery oversees a team of over 25 Pool Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, and Pool Assistants, focusing on training, organizing, and evaluating staff performance. Additionally, Nery has been a Senior Lifeguard for the City of Carson, California, since June 2006, where responsibilities include supervising and training a team of lifeguards and instructors. Prior experience includes serving as a Lifeguard Instructor for The City of Manhattan Beach, conducting swim lessons, coaching a swim team, and engaging with the community regarding pool services and safety. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies from California State University, Long Beach, and an Associate’s Degree in Mathematics and Natural Sciences from Los Angeles Community College District.
