Julie Owens

Julie Owens currently serves as the Assistant Director of Public Works for the City of Chamblee, overseeing strategic planning and operational management since November 2022. Previously, Julie held various roles at the City of Atlanta from July 2006 to November 2022, including Watershed Manager II, where responsibilities involved managing multiple projects with the US Army Corps of Engineers and developing a Water Equity Roadmap. Julie also led the Green Infrastructure Task Force, coordinated environmental compliance audits, and contributed to stormwater management initiatives. Prior experience includes positions at the Georgia Environmental Protection Division and Rockdale County Environmental Health Department. Julie holds a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health Science from the University of Georgia.
