Mark Toalson

Mark Toalson has a diverse work history primarily in the field of GIS (Geographic Information System). Mark served as the IT Director for the City of Champaign from July 2012 till present. Before that, they held the role of Assistant IT Director for GIS from December 2007 to June 2012. Mark was also actively involved in professional organizations, serving as President Elect, President, and Past President of the Illinois GIS Association from 2009 to 2012. Mark was also a Director on the ILGISA Board of Directors from 2007 to 2012. Earlier in their career, Mark worked as the GIS Manager for the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission from July 2003 to December 2007. Mark also had experience as President of Map Research Technologies, Inc. from 1996 to 2003 and as a GIS Manager at JE & Associates from 1991 to 1996.

Mark Toalson attended Illinois State University from 1981 to 1985, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Geography. Mark later studied at Northern Illinois University from 1992 to 1993, focusing on Geography.
