Andrea Ruege

Andrea Ruege is an experienced attorney currently serving as Assistant City Attorney IV for the City of Chesapeake since November 2019, specializing in Human Resources, Human Services, and FOIA issues, and is a senior member of the City's Litigation Team focusing on employment law at the federal and local levels. Prior to this role, Ruege worked as an Associate Attorney at Foley & Foley, PC and Bertini Law P.C., where the practice concentrated on labor and employment law and workplace discrimination under Title VII. Early career experience includes internships with the City of Charleston Legal Department and Jenny L. Colon, P.C. Andrea Ruege earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from Charleston School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia.
