Khari Matthew Humphries

Khari Matthew Humphries has extensive experience in public service and community development, currently serving as Deputy Mayor for the City of Chicago since February 2022, with roles including Acting Deputy Mayor of Education, Youth and Human Services, and 1st Deputy of Education and Youth. Humphries also has a background as a candidate for 4th Ward Alderperson and previously held the position of Senior Director of Youth Policy. Prior experience includes serving as Executive Director of School Age Strategies at Thrive Chicago and Senior Manager of Community Life at The Community Builders, Inc., where Humphries focused on enhancing financial stability, youth development, and community engagement for residents in affordable housing. Earlier roles include Club Manager at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. Education encompasses a Bachelor's degree from Saint Xavier University and completion of the Civic Leadership Academy at the University of Chicago.
