Amanda Daflos is an accomplished public servant and leader in innovation, currently serving as Deputy Mayor for the City of Los Angeles since March 2025. Prior to this role, Amanda was the founding Executive Director of the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University from June 2021 to March 2025, where efforts focused on aiding nearly 250 cities in implementing innovative practices through research and data. Amanda's extensive experience also includes serving as Chief Innovation Officer and founding Director of the Innovation Team for the City of Los Angeles from May 2015 to May 2021, where impactful projects like the Highland Park Accessory Dwelling Unit Pilot were developed. Earlier career highlights include a Senior Manager role at Deloitte Consulting, leading significant government projects, and positions at the International Mountain Explorers Connection and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, emphasizing program management and grant administration. Amanda holds an MPA in Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver and a BA in Sociology from Hamilton College, alongside further leadership training.
