Alyssa Hernandez currently serves as the Director of Community Development at the City of Cleveland - City Hall since February 2022. Prior to this role, Alyssa held the position of Bureau Chief at the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, overseeing various economic recovery and mitigation programs. Alyssa's experience includes serving as Mitigation Manager at the Office of Disaster Recovery and as Statewide Crossover Coordinator/Gubernatorial Fellow at the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. Alyssa has a solid academic foundation, holding a PhD in Educational Policy Evaluation and multiple degrees in Education Policy and Public Policy from Florida State University and DePaul University. Alyssa has also been actively involved in community initiatives, including serving as Co-Chair of the Young Elected Officials Network Latina/o Caucus and as a School Board Member for Rich Township 227.
