Fire Chief at City of Collinsville

John Bailot, MPA, EFO has extensive work experience in the field of fire and emergency management. John most recently served as the Fire Chief for the City of Collinsville since February 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of Deputy Fire Chief for the City of Collinsville Fire Department from February 2020 to February 2021.

Bailot began their career with the City of Kirkwood in 1986, where they held various positions including Deputy Chief, Fire Marshal, Firefighter-Paramedic, Engineer, Captain, and Chief of Prevention. John'stenure with the City of Kirkwood lasted for over 22 years, from June 1986 to October 2008.

John Bailot, MPA, EFO has a diverse education history in the field of fire services and public administration. John obtained their Associate's Degree in Fire Science/Firefighting from St. Louis Community College in 1992. Following that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Fire Services Administration from Western Illinois University in 1998.

In 2006, John pursued further education and enrolled in California State University-Dominguez Hills, where they successfully completed a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a focus on Public Management between 2006 and 2008.

Continuing their professional development, John attended the National Fire Academy in 2014, where they obtained a certificate in Executive Fire Officer (EFO) with a specialization in Executive Leadership.
