Sam Orth is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in public sector IT leadership. Currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer for the City of Columbus since July 2016, Sam has played a crucial role in modernizing IT services for city departments and citizens, including the implementation of a pioneering body-worn camera program. Prior to this role, Sam was the Chief Technology Officer at the Management Council of the Ohio Education Computer Network, overseeing IT services for over 900 educational institutions. Additional experience includes serving as State Chief Information Officer for the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, where Sam led enterprise IT functions and managed significant IT investments. Sam also held leadership positions in various educational technology firms and began a career in technology sales and management. An alumnus of The Ohio State University, Sam holds a Bachelor's degree.
