Sony Peronel

Sony Peronel is an experienced city management professional currently serving as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Corpus Christi since July 2019, with responsibilities including oversight of various city departments such as Communications, Intergovernmental Relations, Libraries, Health District, Animal Care Services, and IT. Previously, Sony Peronel held roles such as Interim Assistant City Manager, Assistant to the City Manager, and Performance Management Administrator at the City of San Antonio, where responsibilities included contract management, special project oversight, and data analysis. Additional experience includes educational opportunities, such as working with the Seoul Metropolitan Government as a study abroad student, and internships in economic development and long-range planning. Sony Peronel holds a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning, a Graduate Certificate in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida.
