Denaee Amaya's work experience includes various roles in different organizations. From March 2023, they have been serving as the President of the Parks and Recreation Commission for the City of Covina. They were also the President of the Library Board of Trustees starting from July 2021. Prior to these positions, they held the role of Library Board Trustee and Parks and Recreation Commissioner for the same city. In 2022, they joined Azusa Pacific University as a board member of the Social Work Department. In 2021, they worked for the California State Assembly as a District Director and previously as a District Representative. They were also a member of the Board of Directors for YWCA San Gabriel Valley. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Communications Deputy for Council District 7 in the City of Los Angeles, and from 2017 to 2019, they worked in the Los Angeles Mayor's Office of Public Safety. They also served as a Los Angeles Mayoral Intern in the Los Angeles Mayor's Office of Public Engagement in 2017.
Denaee Amaya attended Arizona State University from 2013 to 2017, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice & Criminology as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies.
