M. Renee Johnson

M. Renee Johnson serves as the Assistant Park and Recreation Director for the City of Dallas since May 2020, previously holding the title of Managing Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of DeSoto from August 2007 to May 2020. This role involved leading a nationally accredited department known for its innovative programming and special events, as well as overseeing a youth sports program that successfully advanced student athletes to major universities nationwide. M. Renee Johnson's prior experience includes positions as Interim City Manager and Parks and Recreation District Manager for the City of Dallas, where responsibilities encompassed managing multiple recreation centers and parks, as well as directing operations at the Martin Luther King Center in South Dallas. M. Renee Johnson holds a Bachelor's degree in Merchandising and Marketing from the University of Arkansas.
