Rodney Patten, PhD, is an experienced attorney currently serving as the Assistant City Attorney and Senior Prosecutor for the City of Dallas since November 2012. Prior to this role, Rodney held the position of Assistant City Attorney-III with the City of Plano from November 2001 to September 2012, focusing on municipal court prosecutions and training city officials on legal matters. Rodney also practiced as an Associate Attorney at Hermes Sargent Bates LLP and served as a Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Fort Worth. Rodney holds a PhD in Public Affairs from The University of Texas at Dallas and a JD from Texas Southern University—Thurgood Marshall School of Law, in addition to a BS in Mass Communication from Lamar University.
