Jason U. has extensive experience in law enforcement. Jason started their career in 1993 as a Police Officer with the Swatara Township Police Department. During their time there, they served in various roles including Criminal Investigator and Deputy Chief of Police. As a Criminal Investigator, they were assigned to the Dauphin County Drug Task Force and was responsible for intelligence gathering, undercover operations, surveillance, and managing criminal informants. In 2011, they were promoted to Chief of Police and held that position until 2017, when they joined the City of DeLand as the Chief of Police.

Jason U. has a strong educational background in the field of law enforcement and public administration. Jason attended Northwestern University's Graduate School of Police Staff & Command in 2008, where they pursued a degree in Executive Leadership and Management. Prior to that, they completed their Masters Degree in Public Administration at Penn State University Harrisburg from 2002 to 2006. Jason U. also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, which they obtained from 1986 to 1990.

In addition to their formal education, Jason U. has obtained two certifications. Jason acquired the title of Instructor from the Pennsylvania State Police in April 2010, and they obtained a Class A Electronic Surveillance certification from the same institution in March 2000.
