Paul Meltzer

Council Member at City of Denton

Paul Meltzer is the District 3 Council Member. He served as the Place 6 At-large Council Member from 2018-2022 and as Mayor Pro Tem from 2021-2022.

While not on council he served as Vice-Chair of the Sustainability Framework Advisory Committee. On council previously he served on the Mobility Committee, the Downtown TIF Board, the Committee on the Environment, the Audit and Finance Committee, and the Committee on Community Engagement. He comes from a thirty-year career as a new product executive working on both consumer goods and services for divisions of General Mills, Campbell Soup Company, and a company successfully acquired by Time-Warner Cable, retiring youthfully as Senior Vice President of Product Management.

Paul has been an active community volunteer in Denton, serving as President of the Denton Rotary Club in the 2022-2023 year and as a Meals on Wheels volunteer. His past volunteer work includes Salvation Army grocery packing, American Red Cross responder, Vice President of the Thin Line Festival, and several United Way assignments including ESL instructor, BankOn Denton County bilingual instructor, VITA tax preparer, and financial coach.

Paul holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Dartmouth College.
