Chas Cahill

Chas Cahill currently serves as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Des Moines, having started in January 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Transportation Planner I at the Iowa Department of Transportation, where responsibilities involved coordinating projects and developing regulatory reports from September 2020 to January 2023. Chas also worked as an Associate Attorney at Shindler, Anderson, Goplerud & Weese P.C., representing clients in court and facilitating settlements. Earlier roles include a Governmental Affairs Intern at Nyemaster Goode, P.C., a Law Clerk at Lipman Law Firm, and a Legislative Intern for the Iowa State Senate. Educational qualifications consist of a Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School, alongside various certificates in Agricultural Law, Environmental Law, and Legislative Practice, as well as dual Bachelor's Degrees in Political Science and Government and Environmental Policy from the University of Iowa.
