Nickolas Schaul

Nickolas Schaul has a diverse work experience that spans over multiple organizations and positions. Nickolas started their career as an Auditor at State Auditor Iowa in 2005 and worked there until 2007. From 2007 to 2013, they worked at City of Iowa City, first as an Internal Auditor and later as a Budget/Management Analyst. In 2017, they joined City of Des Moines as a Deputy Comptroller for a brief period of two months before transitioning to the role of Assistant Finance Director. From January 2020 to September 2020, they worked as the Interim Finance Director before being promoted to their most recent position as the Finance Director, which they currently hold at City of Des Moines.

Nickolas Schaul earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa, where they attended from 2000 to 2005.
