Becky Madison

Becky Madison has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years. Becky is currently working as the Director of Human Resources at the City of Des Plaines since July 2020. In this role, they serve as the key advisor to the City Manager and Assistant City Manager/Finance Director on all human resource and labor relations matters. Becky manages and supervises the human resource division, overseeing activities such as recruitment, policy development, compensation and benefit plan design, employee development, and collective bargaining strategies.

Prior to their current position, Becky worked at the Village of Glenview from 2015 to 2020. Becky served as the Assistant Human Resources Director/Assistant to the Village Manager, where they managed special projects and served on the negotiating team during union negotiations. Becky also worked as the Assistant Human Resources Director, managing the risk program and day-to-day operations in Human Resources.

Before joining the Village of Glenview, Becky held various roles at the Village of Glenview from 2012 to 2015, including Assistant to the Administrative Services Director, where they led projects for the Business Process Division, and Management Analyst (Fire & Administrative Services), responsible for budget and financial analysis and special project management.

From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Management Analyst at Hanover Township, performing projects directed by the Township Administrator and producing the Township's first GFOA-recognized budget document.

Becky also gained experience at Walgreen's Co, where they worked as a Marketing Q&A Coordinator (Promotion) and Marketing Intern, maintaining the integrity of system information, assisting with website maintenance and development, and resolving supplier concerns.

Becky Madison's education history includes a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Leadership from Northern Illinois University, which they earned from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Government & History at the same university from 2003 to 2007.
