Karl McGuire Sr. has extensive experience in the building inspection field, currently serving as a Combination Building Inspector for the City of Destin since June 2015. Prior to this role, Karl McGuire Sr. worked as a vocational school teacher for the Marion County School Board from September 1985 to September 1996. Educational background includes studies at Florida International University from 1980 to 1982 and an Associate of Arts degree in Business/Engineering from Miami Dade Community College.

The City of Destin offers many services to our community. Residents get free use of our boat launch facility and free pass to the State Beach park. Our recreation department offers several sports programs, children's activities, special events, etc. Our City Manager, one of our Council members, and our Mayor all were voted respective position of the years by the Florida League of Cities.
