Tim Slusser currently serves as the Chief of Mobility Innovation for the City of Detroit, a role appointed by Mayor Duggan in December 2021, where Tim successfully passed the city's Transportation Innovation Zone ordinance in January 2023. Tim participated in the 2022 cohort of the Young American Leaders Program at Harvard Business School. Previous experience includes director of smart mobility initiatives at NextEnergy Center, where Tim accelerated innovation in smart cities, and extensive roles at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation focused on business strategy, sales intelligence, and cluster development. Tim began the career as a battery testing engineer intern at General Motors and holds a Master of Engineering in Energy Systems Engineering along with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
