City of Dixon
Louren Kotow currently serves as the Public Works Director for the City of Dixon, a position held since May 2020, previously fulfilling roles as Interim Public Works Director and Deputy Public Works Director. Prior to this, Louren worked at Cosumnes Community Services District as Park Maintenance Manager and Supervisor from July 2017 to May 2020. Experience also includes serving as Area Manager at Coast Landscape Management from September 2012 to July 2017 and Horticultural Consultant at Sierra Foothills Arbor Service, LLC from November 2003 to September 2012. Louren's background in research includes a role as Biological Technician with the U.S. Forest Service and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Davis. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Horticulture and Agronomy as well as a Bachelor's degree in English/communications, both from the University of California, Davis. An extensive analysis of municipal urban forest inventories was conducted during academic studies, contributing to the development of a pest-vulnerability matrix and a grading scheme for resource allocation.
