Austin Ramirez possesses extensive experience in economic development and public administration, currently serving as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Downey since April 2024. Previously, Austin held positions including Economic Development Manager for the City of Tumwater and Community & Economic Development Manager with Lane County Government, where roles also included Interim Manager and Economic Development Officer. Initial experience was gained as a Management Analyst and Special Events Program Coordinator for the City of Claremont. Academic qualifications include a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Urban Management & Affairs from the University of La Verne and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, along with a minor in Human Resource Management, from California State University-San Bernardino.
