Frances Leong Sharp, AICP, is an experienced planner currently serving as Planner II for the City of Dunedin since June 2018, focusing on strategic land use, transportation planning, and development review. Sharp manages the Strive for 2035 Comprehensive Plan Update and acts as the staff liaison to several advisory committees, including the Forward Pinellas Planner Advisory Committee. Previous roles include serving as Program Planner for the City of Largo from August 2013 to June 2018, overseeing development review processes and leading committee meetings. Earlier experience includes positions at the City of Clearwater as an Economic Development Specialist and as a Planning and Economic Development Intern at the City of Dunedin. Sharp holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Planning and Architecture from Auburn University.

Dunedin is recognized as a vibrant Main Street City offering quaint retail stores, art galleries, antique shops, restaurants, and breweries. The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail, a 38.2 mile recreational trail stretching from north to south Pinellas County, runs through the heart of downtown. Dunedin also has an active merchants association that works with the City to sponsor many events that bring residents and visitors to the area including Mardi Gras, Dunedin Wines the Blues, and the Arts and Crafts Festival.
