Lance Fontaine

Lance Fontaine is an accomplished Environmental Planning and Compliance Analyst, Senior at the City of Durham, with extensive experience in environmental project management and water quality improvement initiatives. Since December 2011, Lance has successfully managed multiple watershed improvement plans and invasive vegetation control projects, developed relational databases and GIS data, and collaborated with North Carolina State University on innovative soil monitoring projects. Prior experience includes roles as an Environmental Specialist at the North Carolina Department of Transportation, where Lance coordinated NEPA documentation and permits, and as a lecturer at UC Irvine, where Lance taught courses in ecology. Lance holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University and a BS in Ecological Biology from Tulane University.
