Mark Clancy

Mark Clancy is an experienced law enforcement professional currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Police for the City of Durham since June 2004, overseeing the Administrative Services Bureau. Clancy has held various leadership roles, including Assistant Chief of Police for the Operations Bureau, Police Major, and District 4 Commander. Additional experience includes serving as Police Lieutenant, Police Sergeant, Police Corporal, Investigator, and Police Officer in various capacities. Mark Clancy also contributes to education as an Adjunct Professor at Durham Technical Community College since July 2022. Prior positions include Area Loss Prevention Manager at Allied Security and Drill Instructor in the United States Marine Corps. Clancy holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice/Public Administration, a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, and an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration, all earned at Liberty University.
