Nierenhausen Ron

Nierenhausen Ron has a diverse work experience, starting in 1983 when they joined the Minnesota National Guard as a Staff Sergeant and Squad Leader for the 47th Military Police Company. In 1990, they transitioned to the United States Army Reserves, serving as a Sergeant First Class and Military Police Instructor until 1999.

In 1987, Ron also began their career in law enforcement as a Patrol Officer for the Elk River Police Department. Nierenhausen later served as a K-9 Handler and then as a Patrol Sergeant until 2011. From 2011 to 2015, they held the role of Police Captain, responsible for overseeing various divisions within the police department and managing fleet acquisitions and maintenance. Lastly, Ron served as the Chief of Police from 2015 until the present time.

Additionally, Ron worked part-time as a Police Officer for the University of Minnesota starting in 2007. Nierenhausen also had a teaching role as an Adjunct Faculty member at Concordia University, St. Paul from 2004 to 2008, where they taught courses on Community Oriented Criminal Justice and Graduate Level Systems Thinking.

Nierenhausen Ron has a diverse education history in the field of criminal justice and police science. In 1982, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from St. Cloud State University, where their field of study focused on Criminal Justice/Police Science. Moving forward, in 1997, they attended Northwestern University for a brief period, focusing on Police School of Staff and Command. Later, in 2002, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Human Services with a specialization in Criminal Justice from Concordia University-St. Paul. Finally, in 2012, Ron participated in the IACP Leadership in Police Organizations program. Unfortunately, there is no degree or field of study specified for this particular program.
