Michael Duerr

Michael Duerr has extensive work experience in the field of Human Resources. Michael began their career as a Human Resources Intern at Las Virgenes Municipal Water District in 2004. From there, they worked as a Human Resources Technician at the City of Oxnard from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, Duerr joined the City of Everett, WA and held various positions including Human Resources Analyst, Employee/Labor Relations Coordinator, Labor Relations Program Manager, Human Resources Manager, and currently serves as the Assistant Human Resources Director.

Michael Duerr's education history starts with their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, which they obtained from UC Santa Barbara. Michael attended UC Santa Barbara from the year 2000 to 2004. Following that, they pursued further education and completed their Master of Public Administration degree in Public Administration at California State University, Northridge. Michael attended California State University, Northridge, from 2004 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Michael Duerr has also obtained several certifications. In 2009, they received the PHR certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI. In 2015, they obtained the SHRM-CP certification from SHRM. Furthermore, they completed the Leadership Snohomish County program offered by Leadership Snohomish County in 2017. Lastly, in 2023, they earned the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Calliope Consulting, LLC.
