Taurus Freeman, MPA has a diverse work experience in the public sector. Starting in 1999, they worked as a City Reporter for The Daily Sentinel. In 2000, they became an Assistant City Planner for the City of Nacogdoches, where they were involved in various planning and development projects. Taurus also served as a Housing Official during their time at the City of Nacogdoches. From 2002 to 2005, Taurus worked as a Planner in Henry County, where they handled both short and long-range planning initiatives. In 2005, they joined the City of Villa Rica as the Community Development Director, overseeing several divisions and focusing on comprehensive and strategic planning, economic development, and code compliance. In 2012, Taurus became the Director of Planning & Development Services for the City of Griffin, where they managed multiple departments and implemented various planning strategies. Taurus then served as the Director of Planning & Development Services for the City of Abilene from 2016 to 2018, supervising divisions such as Building Inspections and Planning Services. Taurus later joined the City of Houston as a Senior Plan Analyst before transitioning to The Freeman Planning Group in 2014, where they became the Principal Consultant. Currently, Taurus is the Assistant Director of Economic & Community Development for the City of Fayetteville, North Carolina, responsible for managing economic development and affordable housing programs.

Taurus Freeman, MPA has a comprehensive education history. Taurus started by earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communication and Media Studies and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business Management, General from Southern Arkansas University. Later on, they pursued a Graduate Certificate of Local Government Management from The University of Georgia.

In 2013, Taurus Freeman completed their Master's Degree in Public Administration at Grand Canyon University. Taurus then attended Harvard Business School for post-graduate business administration courses focused on Accounting and Business/Management in 2015. Additionally, Taurus Freeman is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University, which they are expected to complete in 2024.

Alongside their formal education, Taurus Freeman also possesses certifications in Erosion & Sedimentation Level IA from the Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission, obtained in November 2009. Taurus also holds a certification in Regional Economic Development & Leadership from the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, although the exact date of completion is unknown.
