Lance McAvoy

Lance McAvoy serves as the Director of Water Utilities for the City of Fort Smith Water Utilities Department since August 2012, overseeing budgeting, strategic planning, and personnel management for the utility's various functions. Previous roles include Interim Utility Director and Deputy Director of Operations, where responsibilities encompassed managing the Treatment Program involving multiple water and wastewater treatment plants. Additional experience includes serving as Environmental Manager and Laboratory Manager within the Fort Smith Utility Department, as well as positions as Laboratory Supervisor at Environmental Enterprise Group, Inc., and Chemist at Data Testing, Inc. Lance McAvoy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Arkansas Tech University, attained in 1991.
