Derrick Cotten

Derrick Cotten, CPA, has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Derrick began their career in 2007 in the United States Air Force, serving as a member of the military until 2013. In 2014, they joined the City of Stockton, CA as an Accountant, where they worked until 2015. From 2015 to 2018, Derrick worked for the City of Lodi, starting as a Supervising Accountant and later becoming a Finance Manager. Since 2018, they have been employed by the City of Frisco, initially as an Accounting Manager, then as a Controller, and currently as the Director of Finance.

Derrick Cotten, CPA, pursued their education with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from the University of West Florida, which they completed between 2010 and 2013. Building upon their undergraduate studies, they furthered their expertise by obtaining a Master of Science (MS) degree in Accounting from California State University-Sacramento, from 2014 to 2016.
