Michele Hay is an experienced professional in economic development and communications, currently serving as the Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Galveston since February 2021. Prior to this role, Michele held the position of Director of Communications at the Galveston Economic Development Partnership from August 2011 to February 2021, overseeing communications and information services. Earlier in Michele's career, from April 1999 to July 2011, Michele was the Director of Marketing at The Eye Clinic of Texas. Michele holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, earned between 1988 and 1991, and also attended Galveston College from 1986 to 1988, following graduation from Ball High School in 1986.
