Derek Canatella is an experienced Crime and Intelligence Analyst currently serving the Garland Police Department since August 2020, where responsibilities include facilitating the transfer of crime tracking data from Excel to an Access database. Prior to this, Derek held a position in Loss Prevention at Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia, managing security and lost and found processes from October 2017 to July 2020. Derek’s career also includes a role as a Dispatcher/Calltaker for the County of San Mateo in 2016 and an extensive tenure with the New Orleans Police Department from 1995 to 2016 as a Detective and Crime Analyst. Educational qualifications encompass degrees from California State University-Sacramento, Tulane University School of Professional Advancement, Delgado Community College, and ongoing studies in Japanese Language and Culture at Meiji Academy.
