Liz Mauro is an experienced landfill and environmental compliance manager, currently serving as the Landfill Manager for the City of Glenwood Springs since April 2021. Prior to this role, Liz worked as a Project and Compliance Manager for Pitkin County, where responsibilities included overseeing landfill and compost operations, ensuring NPDES Stormwater permit compliance, and managing hazardous waste collection. Earlier positions included Land Manager for Pitkin County, focusing on noxious weed compliance, and roles as a Lab Technician and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator at Aspen Consolidated Sanitation District. Liz holds a Master of Natural Resource Stewardship with a specialization in Ecological Restoration, a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management and Policy, and an Associate of Applied Science in Natural Resources Management and Policy, all from Colorado State University and Colorado Mountain College.
