Rick Muriby

Rick Muriby serves as the Director of Community and Economic Development for the City of Golden since January 2008, having also held roles as Planning Manager and Acting Director. Key responsibilities include developing strategic plans with stakeholders to enhance transparency and facilitate partnerships to address land use and sustainability goals. Previous experience includes leading significant transportation initiatives as Senior City Planner and implementing sustainable land use regulations as City Planner. Muriby started the career as a Planning Intern in Arvada and has a diverse background in real estate, digital media product management, and environmental advocacy, complemented by a Master's degree in Urban Planning from the University of Colorado Denver and a BA in Political Science from The University of Texas at Austin.
