Desiree A Kirkland

Desiree A Kirkland serves as the Deputy City Comptroller for the City of Grand Rapids since April 2025. Previously, Kirkland held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and City Treasurer for the City of Lansing, Michigan, from September 2020 to April 2025. Additional experience includes serving as Assistant Treasurer for Barton Hills and Deputy Treasurer of Financial Services at the Wayne County Treasurer's Office. Kirkland also worked as Chief Deputy Treasurer for Ingham County and as Church Administrator for the Tabernacle of David Church. Academic credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Ferris State University, a Master's degree in Christian Studies from Grand Canyon University, and an ongoing MBA in Accounting from Davenport University.
