Valarie Poindexter

Valarie Poindexter is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Communications Director for the City of Grandview since December 2023, where responsibilities include planning and executing comprehensive communication strategies. Previously, Valarie held the role of Communications Coordinator for the same city from November 2015 to August 2017 and worked as a Producer at WDAF-TV from 2010 to November 2015, leading a newscast team and crafting engaging stories. Other notable positions include Director of Development at DCI Studios, where integrated marketing plans were developed, and roles at KNSD-TV, WDAF-TV, and KRCG-TV as a Producer and Associate Producer/Editor, enhancing newscast content. Valarie earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and studied Broadcast Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
