Steve Averett

Steve Averett is an experienced GIS professional with over 26 years in the field, currently serving as the Manager of GIS and Special Projects for the City of Greensboro since March 2013. Prior to this role, Steve held the position of GIS Manager for Orange County Government from August 2005 to March 2013, where responsibilities included administering the GIS Division and designing a county-wide Enterprise GIS. Steve also gained valuable experience as GIS Manager for Gaston County from July 2000 to July 2005, and as GIS Coordinator for the City of Sanford from March 1997 to July 2000, where notable achievements included implementing enterprise GIS systems across various departments. Steve Averett holds a Master of Public Administration from UNC-Greensboro and a Bachelor's degree in English and History from Elon College.
