Matt Bender

Matt Bender is an experienced water operations professional with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Manager of Water Operations for the City of Guelph since January 2024, Matt previously held the position of Regional Hub Manager for Huron/Elgin at the Ontario Clean Water Agency from July 2022 to January 2024. Prior experience includes various roles at the Region of Waterloo, including Supervisor of Operations and Maintenance, Water Quality Specialist, and Process/SCADA Operator from July 2008 to July 2022. Earlier roles also include Water Operator for the Town of The Blue Mountains (July 2004 - July 2008) and Water/Wastewater Operator for Oxford County (June 2001 - July 2004). Matt holds a Technician degree in Terrain and Water Resources from Fleming College, completed between 1999 and 2001.
