Sumant Patel

Sumant Patel is a seasoned professional in water and wastewater management, currently serving as the Manager of Operations Wastewater Services for the City of Guelph since May 2021. In this role, Sumant provides strategic leadership for capital infrastructure program planning, treatment operation and maintenance, and asset management, emphasizing municipal growth and sustainability. Prior to this, Sumant held various roles in the City of Toronto, including Superintendent of Plant Processes and Operations, as well as positions in Niagara Region and Ontario Clean Water Agency, where responsibilities included biosolid management and water quality management systems. Sumant's educational background includes a degree in Environmental Engineering Technologist from Mohawk College and a degree in Computer Software Engineering from McMaster University. Additionally, experience as a peer tutor at Mohawk College involved facilitating courses on various environmental and engineering subjects.
