Sheryl Horowitz has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Sheryl'smost recent position is as the Director of Central Grants Administration at the City of Hartford, which they started in November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the Connecticut Association for Human Services as the Chief Research and Evaluation Officer from October 2010 to July 2020. Sheryl also served as an Administrator at the Institute for Medical Quality from December 2008 to October 2010 and as the Director of Research and Evaluation at Planetree from April 2006 to December 2008. Earlier in their career, they held the position of Senior Scientist at Hartford Hospital from 2001 to 2006, Researcher at the Hispanic Health Council from 1994 to 1998, and Analyst at the University of Massachusetts, Institutional Research from 1988 to 1990.
Sheryl Horowitz completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Stony Brook University, where they studied from 1967 to 1971. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a doctoral degree in Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Sheryl enrolled in the PhD program in 1971 and successfully completed it in 1980.
