Caroline Kone, PE, is a seasoned professional in traffic engineering and transportation management with over a decade of experience. Currently serving as the Traffic Division Manager for the City of Hickory since October 2011, responsibilities include overseeing the signal system, signage, and roadway striping while managing a team of nine employees and maintaining the budget. Prior to this role, Caroline held the position of Transportation Manager, overseeing both Traffic and Street Divisions, and worked as a Traffic Engineer at WSP SELLS, where key tasks included conducting various traffic studies and designing signing plans. Additional experience includes serving as an Adjunct Professor and Graduate Teaching Assistant at UNC Charlotte, where instruction centered on transportation engineering, along with research into non-traditional intersection types. Caroline holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, as well as an Associate of Arts degree from Durham Technical Community College.
