Angela Kirkwood

Angela Kirkwood, MPA, SHRM-SCP, IPMA-SCP, serves as the Director of Human Resources for the City of High Point since May 2013, leading HR operations for over 1,500 employees and managing a team of 14 with a substantial budget. Previously, Angela held the position of HR Manager at HDR, where the focus included developing Affirmative Action plans and advising on HR initiatives. At CH2MHill, experience as a Human Resources Business Partner involved overseeing HR functions for 800+ employees across multiple locations, while roles at the City of Atlanta and City of Los Angeles contributed to a robust background in public sector human resources. Angela holds a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Human Resources and Finance from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from UCLA.
