After serving the City of Hillsboro in the Finance Department for several years, Ken joined HPL in 2018 to lead our “Innovate” work group, focused on data-driven decision making and operationalizing our organizational core value of innovation in our daily work. With a background in finance, strategic business development, and business process improvement, Ken has created performance measurements that reflect impact and outcome and has helped to shift the conversation surrounding traditional library metrics. With a passion to make things better tomorrow than they were today, and over a decade of dedicated history working in local government, Ken is committed to serving the Hillsboro community as a career, as well as a personal interest.

Nestled in the Tualatin Valley between Portland and the Pacific Ocean, Hillsboro was founded in 1842 and incorporated in 1876. Its settler economy was first based on fruitful agricultural pursuits, supported by riverboat transportation on the Tualatin River, which helped it grow to about 5,000 people by 1950.
