George Megaw is an accomplished professional in technology commercialization and intellectual property management with extensive experience in the healthcare and academic sectors. Currently serving as Vice President of Business Innovation at City of Hope since June 2010, George leads initiatives in IP protection, commercialization, and innovation while managing technology triage, patent prosecution, and licensing agreements. Previous roles include Senior Director and Director in the Office of Technology Licensing at City of Hope, overseeing all aspects of technology licensing, hiring and mentoring staff, and managing both invented technologies and royalty streams. George's career also includes a Licensing Associate position at the UAB Research Foundation, a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatrics, and experience with the UK Ministry of Defence. An alumnus of the University of Glasgow with a PhD in Virology and Ulster University with a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences, George brings a rich academic background to the field.
