Paloma Aguirre serves as the Mayor of the City of Imperial Beach and as a California Coastal Commissioner with the California Coastal Commission. With a background in environmental management and community service, Aguirre has held various leadership roles, including Senior Program Officer for Environment at the International Community Foundation and Coastal and Marine Director at WILDCOAST. A strong advocate for water quality and coastal conservation, Aguirre has directed numerous projects aimed at preserving ecosystems along the U.S.-Mexico border and has experience in policy analysis and community organizing. Aguirre holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation from UC San Diego and has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of San Diego.
