(Acting) Senior Planner

(Acting) Senior Planner is currently VACANT at City Of Indio.

Previously, (Acting) Senior Planner was the Community Development Director at City of Fairfield, California from February 2018 to February 2019. In this role, (Acting) Senior Planner led a Department for a 120,000 person City with 30 represented team members and a $14 million operating budget. Additionally, (Acting) Senior Planner served as the Deputy Executive Director for the Fairfield Housing Authority and the Successor Agency to the Fairfield Redevelopment Agency.

During (Acting) Senior Planner's time as Community Development Director, they oversaw efforts of the Department leadership team to transform departmental corporate culture, improve client satisfaction and enhance work flow efficiencies in five primary function areas comprised of Administration, Building Services, Economic Development Services, Fairfield Housing Authority and Planning Services. Furthermore, (Acting) Senior Planner directed new investments in staffing and innovation to balance workload demands, implement continuous process improvement practices and enhance technology utilization for enhanced service delivery. Lastly, (Acting) Senior Planner managed disposition of public property assets for return on investment, job creation and property tax and sales tax growth.

In addition to leading the Community Development Department, (Acting) Senior Planner also served as a member of the City's Executive Leadership Team where they oversaw a multi-disciplinary working group pursuing policy, financial and process strategies and actions to achieve increased affordable housing.

They work with Ruben Franz - Building Inspector Supervisor, Jesus Gomez - Housing & Neighborhood Services Manager, and Luis Cerros - Supervising Plans Examiner. (Acting) Senior Planner reports to Kevin Snyder, Director of Community Development. Some direct reports include Manuel Rocha - Planning Technician I, Assistant Planner - (VACANT), and Jessica Belman - Administrative Assistant.
