Alyssa Matheus

Alyssa Matheus, MPA, currently serves as the Principal Planner and Zoning Administrator for the City of Irvine, having taken on this role in September 2023. Previously, Alyssa held the position of Associate Planner in the City of Huntington Beach from August 2021 to May 2023 and worked as a Senior Community Planner at the University of California San Diego from October 2019 to July 2021, where responsibilities included managing coastal permits and developing community outreach materials. A substantial part of Alyssa’s career was spent at LSA Associates, where roles progressed from Assistant Environmental Planner to Senior Environmental Planner between July 2012 and October 2019. In these roles, Alyssa managed the preparation of environmental documents in line with CEQA guidelines and contributed to environmental assessments for numerous transportation and development projects in Southern California. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton, and a degree in City and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
