Shirley Marcano

Shirley Marcano is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in various managerial roles within municipal and educational settings. Since April 1995, Shirley has served the City of Jersey City in multiple capacities, including Treasury Manager, Fiscal Officer, and Finance Manager. Prior experience includes the role of Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance at the Jersey City Incinerator Authority from July 2011 to April 2016, and accounts payable responsibilities at JCIA from April 1995 to July 2011. Shirley’s career began in education as an ESL-Bilingual Teacher and Teacher's Aide at Jersey City Public Schools from October 1987 to June 1993, followed by a position as a Bank Teller at Statewide Savings & Loan from September 1985 to August 1990. Educationally, Shirley holds two Master's Degrees in Accounting and Urban Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Management and Operations, all from New Jersey City University.
