David Wilwerding, AICP has a diverse work experience. David started their career at the City of Johnston, Iowa in 2002 as the Community Development Director, overseeing various departments and managing a team of eight employees. During their time there, they successfully implemented and managed the City's Stormwater Utility to improve the stormwater management system.
In 2000, David worked as a Transportation Planner at the Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization before moving on to the Iowa APA Chapter in 2008. David Wilwerding, AICP, holds a Masters of Public Administration degree in Public Policy from Drake University, which they obtained from 2008 to 2010.
