Karen Thompson

Karen Thompson has extensive experience in public service and project management, currently serving as the Executive Officer for the City of Joondalup since January 2016. Prior to this role, Karen held the position of Acting Manager of Land Development at the Pilbara Development Commission from October 2014 to December 2015 and served as a Senior Project Officer at the Gascoyne Development Commission from September 2009 to October 2014. Karen's career began with roles at the Department of Training and Workforce Development and WA Police, where skills in contract management and intelligence analysis were developed. Additionally, diverse experience was gained as a Victims of Crime Counsellor and Child Witness Service Counsellor at the Ministry of Justice from January 1992 to January 2003. Karen has a solid educational background from Edith Cowan University.
